Preface

Have you ever heard the saying "There is magic in belief?" Do you think that if you really believe in something, you can achieve it?

I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We have a very strong economy right now. If I ask a local group of forty-year-olds if they believe they can attract a job that pays $7 an hour (minimum wage here is $5.50 an hour), they will all likely say yes, and because they believe it, they would achieve that goal.

Yet if I ask a local group of sixteen-year-olds the same question, only a few of them would believe enough in themselves to attract a $7-an-hour job. Those who believe they could, would attract it. All of the sixteen-year-olds would, however, believe they could attract a $3-an-hour job and they definitely could (the going rate for babysitting in Edmonton is between $3 and $5 an hour).

People achieve what they believe they can. Do you agree with this principle? How could we increase our belief in ourselves to attract more of our desires?

By starting small and accomplishing what we think we can. Every time we act on a belief in ourselves to achieve something and actually do achieve it, two things happen. One, we learn as we get closer to our goal, until we learn enough to accomplish it, and two, our belief in ourselves grows as a result of achieving each goal.

True belief doesn't let us stop until we achieve our goal. There is magic in belief, and belief is a magic tool that gives us the perseverance and tenacity necessary to achieve any goal. With belief, patience and some of the other magic tools you'll discover through this book can come alive, and enable you to find a way to achieve whatever you set out to.

Once your goal is accomplished you'll have more knowledge and as a result, a little more belief in yourself. Each time you set a goal you believe you can achieve, no matter how small that goal may be, your belief in yourself grows and so does your knowledge. It helps to stretch the belief just a little each time.

I can quickly think of ten friends who earn incomes of six figures or more. All of these friends are over forty. If I asked them whether they believe they could replace their current job with another six-figure-income job, they all would reply yes, and it's true, they all could do that.

The belief in themselves that they have now wasn't always as strong. When each one of them was twenty, I don't think any would have answered with the same conviction and belief that they now enjoy. Their belief in themselves was built by achieving small goal after small goal, and eventually some larger ones too. As the belief built, the goals grew.

We all have the power to increase our belief in ourselves - it happens whenever we write a goal down and act to achieve it. Stretching the limits of our belief a little each time helps it build and become strong. Little by little is the safe way to go. We are all eternal beings, so there's no need to rush. It's healthy to safely enjoy the fruits of the moment as we grow in process.

Humans are creatures of habit. As we develop the habit of believing in ourselves by setting and accomplishing goals as often as we can, we learn to habitually believe, and we learn to attract whatever we want. We also have opportunity to experience the seven magic tools more often. Reading this book will help you learn how to do that.

Have you heard that the three keys to successful retailing are location, location, and location? Well, the three keys to successful living are awareness, awareness, and awareness. Awareness of your thoughts and feelings is the key to your spirit. As you become more aware, you can more easily shift to the thoughts, questions, and feelings that you want.

The illustration of the swirl icon shown here provides examples of questions you can ask yourself as a means of becoming more aware. It helps us with the three A's for SOS:

Awareness of Self

Awareness of Others

Awareness of Situation

(All to be done with compassion)

Strive to build belief in yourself and to become more aware. This book can help you do that.
