The Seven Elements of Earth and HumanityFive elements of matter make up the earth and our bodies.
Many pagan cultures celebrate the first four elements as well as spirit. The fifth, ether, is a highly flammable liquid in its chemical form. Could it be the fire in all of us? Swami Sri Yukteswar states that ether is a component in all human life, metaphysically speaking. I have heard we all have an etheric body surrounding us. At this time I don't think we truly understand all we need to about ether and its relation to life, but we will as we evolve. Two energy elements exist in the earth and in the multiverse.
The first five elements give us, and the earth, body. These last two elements give the earth, our bodies, and every living thing, spirit or life. When our spirit, the electromagnetic energy, leaves our bodies, they die. If all the electromagnetic energy were removed from the earth, the earth would die. Our spirit gives us life as we know it. How do we get the most out of that life? The Seven Magic ToolsThe overall objective of all sacred scriptures is to guide us so that we attract good things into our lives and we don't hurt others. In the gospels of Luke and Matthew, the Bible talks about seven spirits "more wicked than himself." The Qur'an speaks of the seven heavens above as well as the seven gates to hell. Why seven? Because through our seven chakras we can choose heaven or hell. We could choose those emotions that attract us to hell or we can choose those seven emotions that bring us closer to heaven: patience, belief, the will to share, love, desire, honesty, and gratitude. These seven emotions or attributes are the seven magic tools. I think that if we could live our entire existence feeling these magic tools at our seven spirit centers, we would become one with the Holy Spirit and evolve to another state of being that we can't understand until we're there.
In order to experience the magic of these tools, we must find a way to use them in our everyday lives. It is my belief that when we choose these attributes, in that moment we will become connected to our own holy spirit. The Bible and other holy books share stories to enable us to get in touch with the magical emotions and questions inside ourselves - so that we can practice getting connected. With these seven magic tools, each felt at its own particular chakra, we can overcome any obstacle. (For details on the chakras and the seven magic tools, see the appendix at the back of this book.) In The Holy Science, Swami Sri Yukteswar says, "...through these seven centers or churches, the ego or son of man passes toward the Divinity." With practice, it becomes easier to integrate the seven magic tools into our character and to choose to release more peaceful and faithful feelings. As we practice, we develop habits. When we habitually use the seven magic tools together, it creates within us a holy spirit that connects us to the divine. Then we will know how to attract whatever we want into our lives with more ease.
United at LastThe Bible talks about the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Some goddess-based pagan faiths refer to Mother, Maiden, and Crone. My concept of the Holy Trinity involves the Spirit Mentor, the Network, and the Spirit Apprentice. The Spirit Mentor, with all the attributes of the seven magic tools, equates to the Holy Spirit and the Crone. I think of the Spirit Mentor as my trusted advisor for the right emotions to seek and express in my life. My concept of the Network equates to the Father and Mother. This network involves the entire world and is shown in the illustration here as a globe listing the seven elements of earth and humanity. My concept of Spirit Apprentice equates to the Son and Maiden. We are all apprentices striving to master the lessons of our lives. We are all sons and daughters of the Father and Mother. This illustration brings together different faiths and forms of spirituality, binding them by their similarities. In the headings, the first and second rows of text demonstrate commonalties between Christians and pagans. The third row exemplifies my own nondenominational approach. The yin-yang symbol in the center of the globe illustrates and honors the masculine and feminine attributes in all of us. The seven elements of earth and humanity listed on the globe include concepts honored in the faiths of Native North Americans, Hindus, pagans, and others. All is connected. I believe the concept of seven represents the way our spirit enters, and is expressed through, the seven chakras in the body. Each and every attribute listed with the chakras at the left of the illustration, with the Holy Spirit, the Crone, and the Spirit Mentor, is a magic tool for personal growth. At the right of the illustration shown on page 66, the human body with the seven chakras indicates that at each center we have the gift of choice. When we choose the way of our Spirit Mentor (shown on the left) we become one with all that is. We become one with our God or Goddess and our earth. We honor and respect the planet we live on and lose our desire to conquer and destroy it. All of these attributes of the seven magic tools are within the divine; all of us have access to these magic tools. In each of our seven chakras we have a choice of what to feel and consequently what we attract. In the root chakra, we can choose greed or gratitude. In the sacral chakra, we can choose deceit or honesty. In the solar plexus chakra, we can choose depression or desire. In the heart chakra, we can choose hate or love. In the throat chakra, we can choose gossip or a will to share. In the third eye chakra, we can choose fear or belief. In the crown chakra, we can choose worry or patience. How do we become one with our own spirit? By habitually using the seven magic tools in our lives as we encounter daily circumstances. Try to think of the seven magic tools as options to consider every time you make a decision. We will make wiser choices when we accept the seven magic tools as part of our emotional process in decision-making. How do we learn how to use the seven magic tools? By shifting our feelings of worry to patience, and fear to faith, and so on. Humans are creatures of habit. To learn how to shift our feelings so that they are in tune with our Spirit Mentor - the Crone or the Holy Spirit - we could observe others, people who habitually make use of one of the seven magic tools. For example, by watching and connecting with someone who is habitually patient, I can learn how to be more patient myself and through our interaction, and because of the law of attraction, attract his or her patience to me. Eventually patience will become a habit for me as well. It is difficult, almost impossible, at this time to find someone who exemplifies all of the seven attributes, all of the time. We can often find someone who exemplifies at least one of these attributes, and hopefully, throughout the course of our lives, we'll meet enough people with different attributes that all of the seven can be learned and integrated into our habitual emotional process. By observing many others, eventually we learn how to automatically shift our feelings and use the seven magic tools, even under challenging circumstances. Once we master these seven magic tools, all of the feelings we want to experience will follow automatically. We Are the DivineWhen we discover the Buddha that we are, - Pema Chödrön, When Things Fall Apart We are one with this multiverse. We are made in the image of the divine. We are made of the same seven elements. We have access to the divine through our feelings and intelligence. We are each a Christ or a Buddha unto ourselves and are evolving to the same place that they have. When we begin to acknowledge and shift our feelings to what we want, and continue to ask questions, we can have anything we desire. All people are basically good. The divine is within all of us, not just within Allah, or Christ, or Buddha. In Revelation, Chapter 3, Verse 21, the Bible says, "To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me, even as I also overcame." [italics added] Christ was a human being like you and me. He did not claim to be any different from us. Like Buddha before him, and Mohammed after him, Christ chose a path of spiritual evolution that transcends the comprehension of most humans. He was able to embody and disembody at will. Buddha, Mohammed and Christ were men who transcended to another level of understanding and shared their revelations. We continue our efforts to interpret those revelations so we can transcend as well. I think we missed the Second Coming. We didn't understand. My interpretation of what Christ meant when he said he would come again is that it was a figure of speech, meaning there would be another prophet. Think about this. In the Muslim world, Jesus Christ is viewed as a prophet, just as Moses and Mohammed are. Mohammed came after Christ and told the people he would be the last prophet. I think that Mohammed meant that he would be the last man to be considered a prophet and that after him, no one would ever again be looked upon as a prophet. I've talked to some Islamic people about this interpretation and found that they agree with me. If we look at spirituality in this context, we can accept that we are each our own prophet. We, like Buddha, Christ, and Mohammed, are evolving. We are each evolving toward becoming an enlightened eternal being, joining as one with a supreme power, something greater than ourselves. I find that listening to different spiritual ideas allows me to transcend in my own way, a way that fits me. Your way may be different but that doesn't matter. The important thing is to discover a way that works for you. My only recommendation when exploring different faiths to gain morals and values, is to keep in mind that the law of attraction is a common link and that it responds to our feelings not our actions. |
